Rohaizad Hassan
General Manager, Food Safety and Defense
Rohaizad has been in the food industry for more than 25 years, and at Yildiz Holding, he leads the Consumer Food Sensitivities program. He is responsible for establishing the compliance culture on Halal, Kosher, Vegetarian standards in his global role. Before joining Yildiz Holding, Rohaizad was the Director at Lufthansa Service Holding based in Frankfurt. He headed the global Halal compliance and strategy for Lufthansa’s inflight catering, mainly in Europe and the Americas.
In Malaysia, he was the General Manager at Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC). HDC is focusing on the country’s agenda on Halal Economic Development. Prior to joining the government, he was also at Malaysia Airline as Controller of Inflight Concept Development and various operations positions for ten years focusing on Halal and Food Industry. Rohaizad has a CPD in Advanced Strategic Management from the University of Salford and graduated in Food Service Management from MARA Technology University, Malaysia.
Numan Akkuş
Food Safety & Defense Director
Numan Akkuş is a graduate of Uludağ University, Department of Food Engineering. He has been working for Yıldız Holding for 21 years after graduation.
He has been working since 2019 in the department of the Food Safety Board Directorate under the Yıldız Holding Food Safety Board Presidency. Before joining the Food Safety Board Presidency, he worked in Ulker’s Production, Quality and R&D departments of the biscuits and cake factories in Gebze and Esenyurt. In the quality department, he took part in the certification and management processes of international Quality and Food Safety leading Standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 22000, IFS, BRC, AIB. In addition, he participated in lean system, Kaizen team leadership, 5 S applications and Haccp system improvement studies. Furthermore, while working in the research and development department, he led many new and existing product development projects under the Ülker’s brands.
In his current position, he is involved in training, supervision and consultancy activities for all domestic and international food manufacturing facilities and retail food sales companies of Yıldız Holding.
Çağlar Kaya
Project Manager
Çağlar Kaya holds a degree in Food Engineering from Ondokuz Mayıs University. Following his graduation, he gained professional experience in relevant positions at Gimdes and Merieux Nutriscience before joining Yıldız Holding.
He began his career at Yıldız Holding in 2018 as an Assistant Specialist in Food Safety & Defense within the Food Safety Board and currently serves as a Project Manager.
He carries out training, audit and consultancy activities of Yıldız Holding in domestic and international food manufacturing facilities and retail food sales companies. He took part in the preparation of the “Food Standards for Consumer Sensitivity”, which was put into effect on a global scale by the Food Safety Board. Before starting his duty at Yıldız Holding, he gained expertise in the Halal industry and GMP issues by conducting audits domestically and abroad within the scope of Halal Management Systems in Gimdes. At Merieux Nutriscience, he worked in the field of GFSI and other Quality and Food Safety certification processes. He has received ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRCGS Food Safety, Food Defense training and has BRCGS Food Safety Ver.9 Lead Auditor certificate. In addition to these responsibilities, he manages various digitalisation processes.
He is also a graduate of the 22nd term of the Yenibirlider Leadership Program, conducted in collaboration with the Yenibirlider Association and Boğaziçi University.
