Our Story

Today, consumers make a big difference, new demands and expectations on the foods they consume within their lifestyles, nutritional preferences and religious sensitivities. Among these demands and expectations, besides having quality, being clean and safe, food suitability to their beliefs and lifestyles also matters.

We embraced our late founder, Mr Sabri Ülker, with the understanding “I do not produce and trade any products that I do not eat myself or my children” that he adopted at the beginning of the business while establishing Ülker. Attention has been given to the quality, cleanliness and halalness of the raw materials and all products produced since the first day when Ülker products were made.

The fact that the products bearing Yıldız Holding brands are today identified with the words “Quality and Trust” has been possible with this understanding and sensitivity, which has started from the first years of establishment and has continued continuously until now. According to the research results conducted by independent organizations, our Holding constantly maintains its position in the top rankings of “Most Liked Food Company”. This situation placed heavy responsibilities on us.

Meeting product safety in line with consumer demands and preferences together with legal regulations is a “human right” for everyone. It is our duty to be worthy of the consumer trust and love entrusted to us on a global scale and to develop and maintain this trust continuously.

Along with our understanding of responsibility, there has been a need to strenghten the Food Safety and Consumer Sensitivity processes, which are managed by the factory basis for the expansion of Yıldız Holding’s food companies portfolio under one roof. As a result, we implemented and supervised Holding’s corporate strategies and policies more quickly. Subsequently, a decision was made to establish a Food Safety Board to meet this need.

In 2008, Dr. Mehmet Köse was authorised by the Holding Board of Directors to establish the Food Safety Board. Subsequently, he carried out the necessary infrastructure works and established the Food Safety Board in 2009 and served as the Chairman of the Board until 2016. In 2016, Att. İbrahim Taşkın was appointed as the President and continued with his other duties as a Member of the Board and Deputy Chairman. Today, Att. İbrahim Taşkın continues to serve as the Chairman of the Food Safety Board while Dr. Mehmet Köse, and Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kallek, are Members of the Board.
